Week 9 Archived Show

Tune in to this week’s broadcast of the South Florida High School Football Show as Joe Zagacki and Don Bailey, Jr talk about two surprising programs this season in South Dade and Homestead.

South Dade is entering their first season with new head coach Greg Dentino. Thanks to a solid corps of Juniors and Seniors, the Bucs have been playing well enough to keep their playoff hopes alive in a tightly contested District 16-6A.

They are led by quarterback Jovanni McCray and running back Terry Clayton to complement this offensive attack.

But next week’s test against Homestead will determine who’s in and who’s out for the district.

After an injury plagued season last year, the Broncos have turned around their 2-8 record into a playoff contender. Head Coach Bobby McCray has been executing on all sides of the ball, thanks to tons of athletes that have been making plays.

Homestead is averaging over 28 points a game while allowing just over 8 points. Keahn Wallace has been excellent protecting the football with his touchdown to interception ratio of 10 to 3.

Joe Rose provides highlights on all the big action happening around Dade and Broward County, Laura DeRemigis breaks down the US Army Bowl nominees, Brian Saal provides the Papa Johns Coach of the Week, and Adam Kuperstein breaks down recruiting in South Florida.
